PALS (Recertification / Initial)

The AHA/AAP’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

The PALS Update Course is a one-day course. Students are required to complete the online Pre-Course Self-Assessment to help prepare for the course. This test is designed to be a learning experience and may be taken as many times as necessary. Students are required to submit proof of successful completion of the Pre-Course Self-Assessment at the beginning of the course. If you do not have a current AHA/AAP PALS provider card and/or have not previously taken the PALS Course, you must successfully pass the case scenarios and written exam on the first attempt.
